The Brattleboro Rotary Club recently awarded a total of $18,000 in scholarships to six local high school students who will attend college this fall. The Gateway Foundation, an affiliate of the Brattleboro Rotary Club, funds the scholarships.

This year's recipients include Julia Barton of South Newfane, who will attend the University of New Haven; Alexis Johnson of Hinsdale, N.H., who will attend Keene State University; Alexis LeClair of Hinsdale, who will attend River Valley Community College; Malick Mane of Brattleboro, who will attend the University of Vermont; Lucas Newton of Townshend, who will attend the University of Vermont; and Jack Price of Brattleboro, who will attend the University of Vermont. Each student received $3,000.
