ROTARY MINUTE
Jenifer Ambler presented information on Rotary International efforts against the loss of neonatal/children death from Apnea by providing training in CPR and Resuscitation for nurses, midwives and other caregivers in Sierra Leon.
 
Note for future presenters; The Rotary Minute could also have the speaker talk about their personal involvement in Rotary or personal background.

Betsy Gentile discussed participation of members in “Dollar for a Dream” Raffle. Please pickup a raffle sheet to record sales. Must be submitted to Mara by 10/15/24.
 
     Disc golf details and volunteer requests: 9th Annual Disc Golf on October 5 (scramble) & 6 (two round tournament). Check your email for sponsorship and volunteer opportunities. Will need help in fairways with spotters.

  • Please bring your bottles and cans to the Putney Road redemption center to benefit APPN.  Pure Water for the World is no longer operating in the USA; it continues in Honduras as APPN.
    Maria Inestroza, the PWW country director for Honduras is continuing the work in that country under the name APPM, acronym for Agua Pura para El Mundo, or Pure Water for the World in Spanish Pure Water for the World. Please remember to inform the staff that the bottles and cans should be credited to the club.

Guardian Ad Litem of Windham County
Detailed presentation of Goals of GAL in keeping children and sometimes adults safe by providing trained volunteers who “function as a well functioning parent would” while representing the child. The responsibility of the volunteer is to do this through “review of records” and participation in meetings and court interactions.  The procedure for becoming a volunteer in GAL program is discussed and participants are welcomed to inquire and we are asked to place some posters around the community to spread GAL information.
