President George Weir welcomed all to the April 5th meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club held at the newly renovated American Legion in Brattleboro. Marty Cohn offered the following meaningful invocation:
May those assembled here today enjoy the many offerings of Rotary. May we abide by the rules we have established, those of trust, fellowship and ethics, and may we place Service above Self, in our daily endeavors. And may we always test ourselves and our efforts to be sure they are the truth, good for all concerned, of benefit to mankind, and provide peace ands understanding. Amen.
As a kosher for Passover luncheon of pork loin, boiled potatoes, broccoli, tofu, salad, bread, butter and sugar cookies for dessert was being digested, the meeting continued.

For our Rotary joke, Roger Allbee told a version of the following:
An airplane was about to crash. There were 4 passengers on board but only 3 parachutes.
The 1st passenger said, " I am Steph Curry , the best NBA basketball player. The warriors and my millions of fans need me , and i can't afford to die" So he took the 1st pack and left the plane.
The 2nd passenger , Donald Trump , said , " I am the newly elected US President , and I am the smartest President in American history , so my people don't want me to die." He took the 2nd pack and jumped out of the plane.
The 3rd passenger , the Pope , said to the 4th passenger , a 10 year old schoolboy , " My son , I am old and don't have many years left , you have more years ahead so I will sacrifice my life and let you have the last parachute."
The little boy said , " That's okay , Your Holiness, there's a parachute left for you. America's smartest President took my schoolbag."
ROTARY MINUTE
For our Rotary minute, Jeff Hagstrom pointed out a great example of “Service Above Self” in the form of Stan Nowakowski. Stan not only organized the six meals the club served at the Seasonal Overflow Shelter but also attends each one.

In addition to updating us about BDCC, they gave out copies of the latest annual report.
REMINDERS
Bottles and cans can be brought to Putney Road redemption center to benefit Pure Water for the World. To date, we have collected $300 towards our goal of $500. Please see Mara Williams.
