WELCOME

President Bill Vermouth welcomed all to the February 7rd meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club held at the American Legion in Brattleboro. Members who participated at the last night’s Seasonal Overflow Shelter project welcomed members and guests to the meeting <ED NOTE: Kudos for unison, not so with volume and enthusiasm>. Dave Twombley offered a meaningful invocation in which he asked for prayers to comfort the families of Dart Everett and Tom Johnson.

This was followed by the pledge of allegiance. Birthday greetings were extended to Ron Stahley.

As a luncheon of grilled chicken, chicken stew, vegetable lasagna, salad, rolls and chocolate chip cookies for dessert was being digested, the meeting continued.

GUESTS: Visiting Rotarian Val Stuart (Sunrise) and Bob Stevens (speaker)

ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION

The first years of the Rotary Club. ... The members chose the name Rotary because initially they rotated subsequent weekly club meetings to each other's offices, although within a year, the Chicago club became so large it became necessary to adopt the now-common practice of a regular meeting place.
