President George Weir welcomed all to the March 8th meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club held at the Brattleboro Country Club. Jenifer Ambler offered the following singing invocation from Rotary’s Songbook: God Bless Our Rotary (sung to the tune of “America”)
As a luncheon of linguine, chicken & broccoli alfredo, meatballs marina, Caesar salad, garlic bread and chocolate cannoli for dessert was being digested, the meeting continued.

For our Rotary joke, George Weir told a version of the following on behalf of Bill Vermouth (who is attending President Elect Training):
A guy walks into a bar. The bartender says, "Do you want to play a game? See those two rib-eyes nailed to the ceiling? You get to throw one dart. If you hit one, you get to take them home and I'll give you a free drink." The man says, "No thanks, the steaks are too high."
ROTARY MINUTE
For our Rotary minute, Marty Cohn relayed this thought on behalf of Greg Worden:
One aspect of our club is that a member can come up with an idea and run with it. This occurred when Joe Little wanted to support the club’s focus on literacy by building “Little Free Libraries.” Joe’s community service committee produced seven libraries. Greg Worden found seven artists to paint them. And now, the Friends of Memorial Library are going to sell them.
Literacy project √. Involvement of local artists √. Raising funds for library √. A good example of Rotary in Motion.
