WELCOME

President Bill Vermouth welcomed all to the May 16th meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club held at the American Legion in Brattleboro. For today’s invocation, Milt Gilmore offered the following:

"“Lord, we thank you for the food that graces these tables and for the fellowship we share at these meetings. Help us to make this community a better place. For those people in need, give us understanding and the ability to help. Amen.

This was followed by the pledge of allegiance. Birthday greetings were extended to Phil George, Jeff Morse, and Bill Vermouth.

As a luncheon of baked chicken, chicken lasagna, broccoli, mashed potatoes, salad, rolls and brownies for dessert was being digested, the meeting continued.

GUESTS: Rachel Cohn, Nancy Leitch, and Tilden Remerietch (speaker).

How many people attended the first Rotary meeting on Thursday evening, February 23, 1905?

 (Answer below.)

JOKE OF THE WEEK

For the joke of the week, Bill Vermouth told a version of the following:

I rear-ended a car this morning. So, there we were alongside the road and slowly the other driver got out of his car. You know how sometimes you just get so stressed and little things just seem funny? Yeah, well I couldn't believe it.... he was a DWARF!!! He stormed over to my car, looked up at me, and shouted, "I AM NOT HAPPY!" So, I looked down at him and said, "Well, then which one are you?"
