President George Weir welcomed all to the October 26th meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club held at the American Legion in Brattleboro. Gina Pattison offered the following meaningful invocation:
We are blessed today, with enough to eat,
May we be grateful.
We are blessed with clothes to wear,
May we be grateful.
We are blessed with shelter from the elements,
May we be grateful.
We are very well blessed today.
May we remember that there are many people
who do not have these blessings.
May we be grateful enough to help others when we can.
This was followed by the pledge of allegiance. Birthday greetings were extended to Andy Rome and Stan Nowakowski.
As a luncheon of Beef, chicken, steamed broccoli, mac&cheese, broccoli, baked potatoes, green salad, bread, and cookies for dessert was being digested, the meeting continued.

The table was then fined for not standing while addressing President George with its defense.

Road shows are planned by Rotarians for Rotarians Committee: NECCA on 11/2. ED NOTE: The meal will be provided by McDonalds (yes, you deserve a break that day!)The luncheon fee will be donated to hurricane relief.Please park in the upper lot.
The Rotary Clubs of Brattleboro received a $1,500 grant from district to complete the disc golf course. ED NOTE: A grant of $5,000 from Withington Foundation, Inc. was received last week for the same purpose
Mixer with Sunrise Rotary is scheduled for 10/26 from 5-7pm at The Marina.
The Putney Road Bottle/Can Redemption is holding a contest for most deposits by a non profits in November. Winner get $0.065 per bottle / can. Remember, all monies for Brattleboro Rotary Club go to Pure Water for the World.
The first Seasonal Overflow Shelter meal will be served by the club on 11/27.

PROGRAM:
Marty Cohn presented The Napoli Group president and director of operations, Jeremy Hinton and brand ambassador Larry Johnston. The Napoli Group owns 59 McDonalds; including the recently renovated one in Brattleboro. The club was informed of the changes to expect in McDonalds. Highlights include cage free eggs by 2022. McDonalds is the largest buyer of food in the country; including the most apples (for its apple pies). Jeremy’s first job was at McDonald’s. His last presentation before Rotary was 24 years ago upon receiving a Rotary scholarship. Larry made one of the first Big Macs in Vermont. He told us that the change collected at each McDonald’s generates millions of dollars for Ronald McDonald Houses.
