Although the alternative is donating $50 (x2) to support the scholarship fund  in lieu of volunteering, we need people volunteering to support the events.
Stan mentioned that there are two slots for the Groundworks meal on Wednesday, George A offered a main dish and we are looking for side dishes. Contact Stan
Betsy Noted that The Hatch space, the retreat and sunrise Rotary made some remarkable tables and need a couple of people for 2/21 as well as some times in March to complete. She noted the remarkable equipment

Speaker:

Liz Richards the Co director of the Harris Hill jump
Tami Introduced Liz
The Harris Hill jump is an iconic event in our region  celebrating its 102nd year
Liz highlighted the need for young people to “take the reins” and help out particularly in organizing the event
Many  area sponsors have supported the event and have been incredible responsive
The event  has a committee of 20 supporting all the activities necessary to make sure that the event is a success
Harris Hill has sold over $10,000 in tickets to date. primarily online along with area businesses including Vermont Country deli.
The event has invested over $4000 in snow making equipment and the overall costs for the event are in the neighborhood of $100,000
These costs  provide support for  flights , hotels, car rentals, banquets for  participants coming from Europe and around the country
Another source of revenue are the steps going up the Hill -there are 186 steps at $1000 each and there are 50 remaining.
The event is doing relatively well financially and generally the attendance is up to 4000 people on Saturday tends to be busier then Sunday
It seems to have a positive financial impact on the region along with great local support.

The members thanked Liz for her excellent presentation.

The meeting was adjourned by George A at 1:10 pm
