Rumors have indicated a coup against President Roger Allbee administration occurred before our latest meeting. Reportedly, Betsy Gentile forces gained the upper hand against the Allbee administration and seized power. Family friends has indicated the Allbee clan has fled east into Maine to regroup forces.
Acting President Betsy Gentile  welcomed all to the July 21, 2022 meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club www.brattlebororotaryclub.org held at the Ramunto's Restaurant. <ED NOTE: 19 members + 2 guests + 0 Student Rotarians = 21 attended.>.  Sargent at Arms was overheard that Betsy did a great job in the first meeting of her coup.
 
An Innovation of peace was silently heard.
 
This was followed by the pledge of allegiance.  Birthday greetings - none today.

Time was given to consider if Ted Kramer has actually reached the age of 18 required for membership into the Brattleboro Rotary Club. All motions were tabled until the Board of Directors can consider the matter.

Carla reviewed her thankfulness in receiving the Rotary award a few years back, for a scholarship towards peace resolution.  (Editor’s note: Our club has received many dollars from the Rotary Foundation in support of our international projects.)

    • Greg Worden thanked all you participated in and provided food and other items for the welcome center fund raiser.  The amount of $1463 was raised.
       
      Mike Mandracohia mentioned the Brattleboro on Wheels Event that the Club will hold at the Retreat Farm on September 17th.  He handed out brochures on the event.

Speaker: Betsy Gentile introduced our speaker, Christopher J Dougherty as Brattleboro Memorial Hospital's new president and chief executive officer  

Chris reviewed the mission of the Brattleboro Memorial Hospital and fiscal difficulties from continued Covid response needs. Chris presented a passionate view of the future with the motto of Hope, Health and Healing.
