President Elect Gina Pattison welcomed all to the January 12 2023 meeting of the Brattleboro Rotary Club www.brattlebororotaryclub.org usually held at the Brattleboro American Legion.
 
Call to Order by President Elect Gina Pattison and the Pledge of Allegiance
 
Invocation:  Ted Kramer, filling in for Teddy Kramer, spoke to the importance and impactfulness of Rotary and the new year.
 
Twenty-nine Rotary members attended and one guest.
 
Birthday greetings Milt Gilmore
 
Special messages
President Elect Gina read a thank you note sent to the club for all the senior gifts that were sent.
Stan announced that the next Groundworks meal will be February 8th with a Valentine's Day theme.
Immediate Past President and Christmas Tree committee chair Phil announced that this year's tree sales were a success and on behalf of the club presented a check to long-ago Past President Bill Vermouth for $2,880 for the Gateway Foundation scholarships.

FINES & Happy Dollars

  • Marcy Jones bragged $100 for his successful open heart surgery in Boston and his cardiac rehab at BMH.
    Jim Haine bragged for his daughter Ali, the new owner of the Guilford store.
    Jennifer Ambler bragged and offered tickets to Friday's performance of Cirque du Soleil.
    Frank Rucker also bragged for Jim's daughter Ali and everything she has done for food service in the school district.
    Rob Spzila bragged for one of our Afghan family's baby recovering from a serious health issue.
PROGRAM
Roger Miller introduced Kristen Sullivan, the new Executive Director at the Retreat Farm. Kristen outlined the upcoming projects at the Retreat Farm including renovation of the north barn and the Grafton Cheese factory building. The north barn project is expected to be completed in the spring of 2024 and the new space will hold 250 people for concerts, workshops, lectures, and various other functions. The Cheese factory building will be used as a future food center hosting cafe's and retail space. For more information sign up for their newsletter at www.retreatfarm.org
