Meeting Make-ups and Attendance Information
Meeting Makeups
The Rotary fiscal year is broken into two six-month intervals. Club members are required to attend 50 percent of the weekly meetings in each six-month period or 13 meetings out of the 26 scheduled. Half of the meetings (seven, for the sake of argument) must be at our Brattleboro Club functions. The other half (six) may be made up by attending meetings of other Rotary Clubs anywhere in the world. You are always welcome as a visiting Rotarian at Rotary Club meetings.
In addition to the requirement listed above, it is imperative that you not miss more than three consecutive meetings without an excused absence or a make-up. Failure to attend four consecutive meetings may constitute resignation from the club.
Home attendance requirements may be fulfilled by coming to weekly meetings or by participating in certain nonrequired functions or projects. Examples of qualifying functions include blood drawings at the Elks, Rotary Board of Directors meetings, and/or special club projects as designated by the President or the Board of Directors.
Working at required project functions such as the annual Golf Tournament and Christmas Tree sales do not satisfy your meeting requirements unless you are working during the weekly Thursday meeting.
Make-Ups
Attend any other Rotary Club meeting within two weeks before or after the club meeting you missed to make-up. An attendance card from the make-up meeting given to the secretary registers your fulfillment of the attendance obligation.
